Why go
Cape Town has a mountain in the centre with a cable car up the side and hiking trails all over it, and from the top you see two coastlines at once. Drive Chapman's Peak in the late afternoon, the road cut into the cliff above the water. Go out to the Cape of Good Hope where the land runs out, stop for the penguins at Boulders Beach on the way back. Then the winelands an hour inland at Stellenbosch, which is a different holiday again. The exchange rate means very good food and wine cost a fraction of what they would at home.
