Privacy policy

Last updated 15 August 2026

This privacy policy explains how Affordable Getaways ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses and safeguards personal information when you visit affordablegetaways.net and book.affordablegetaways.net, submit an enquiry, or make a booking. We are the controller of the personal information described here.

1. Information we collect

  • Information you give us. Your name, email address, and, if you choose to provide it, your mobile number, together with the content of any enquiry or message you send.
  • Booking information. Traveller names, dates of travel, itinerary details, and the booking references issued by Suppliers.
  • Payment information. Card payments are processed by our payment provider. We receive confirmation of payment together with the card type and the last digits of the card. We do not receive or store full card numbers or security codes.
  • Technical information. IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and approximate location derived from IP address, collected to operate and secure the Site and to understand which destinations are of interest.

2. How we use it, and our legal bases

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide customer support, on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us, and, for text messages, on the basis of your consent.
  • To arrange, confirm and administer bookings, on the basis of performance of a contract with you or steps taken at your request prior to entering into one.
  • To comply with legal, accounting and tax obligations, on the basis of legal obligation.
  • To secure the Site, prevent fraud, and improve our service, on the basis of our legitimate interests.

3. Text messaging and mobile information

Where you provide a mobile number and check the consent box on our contact form, we may send you text messages as described in our messaging terms. Consent is never a condition of purchase and may be withdrawn at any time by replying STOP.

No mobile information will be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party except subcontractors and service providers acting on our behalf strictly for the purpose of operating the messaging service, and those parties are contractually prohibited from using the information for any other purpose.

4. Disclosure of information

We disclose personal information only as follows:

  • Suppliers. To the airline, hotel, transfer or activity provider necessary to fulfil your booking. Suppliers process your information under their own privacy terms as independent controllers.
  • Service providers. To processors who host the Site, deliver our email and messaging, process payments, and provide customer relationship tooling. They act on our documented instructions and may not use the information for their own purposes.
  • Legal. Where required by law, court order or a lawful request from a public authority, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
  • Corporate transactions. To a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

5. International transfers

Travel is international by nature. Where your booking involves a Supplier outside your country of residence, your information is transferred to that Supplier so the service can be provided. Where required, transfers are made under appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

6. Retention

Booking records are retained for as long as necessary to provide the service and thereafter for the period required by accounting, tax and limitation-period rules. Enquiries and support correspondence are retained while they remain useful to you and to us, and are then deleted. Technical logs are retained for a short period for security purposes.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request correction of inaccurate information, to request deletion, to object to or restrict certain processing, to request portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Residents of California may request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected and disclosed, and may request deletion, without discriminatory treatment for exercising those rights.

To exercise any right, email hello@affordablegetaways.net. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

8. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Bookings for children are made by an adult.

9. Cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary for the Site to function, including session and currency preferences. Where analytics cookies are used, they are limited to understanding how the Site is used in aggregate. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling necessary cookies may prevent bookings from completing.

10. Security

We maintain administrative and technical measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit and restricted access to booking records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The current version is always published on this page with the date it took effect.
